Principal's Message

I have been assigned as the Principal at 4th Street Early Education Center for four years. I have been in the field of early childhood education with Los Angeles Unified School District since I graduated from high school. I began my career as an aide, and continued as a teacher, director, and currently as a Principal for over 20 years with the Early Childhood Education Division. I am grateful and honored to work with preschool children, our youngest students in LAUSD.

 

I have strived throughout the years to provide our preschool students with the quality early childhood education they deserve and are entitled to ensure their academic success in their school years and life. I was privileged for my parents to be influential role models who motivated me to strive for excellence, instilled the importance of integrity, and exemplified high standards of values, morals, and work ethic. This character is reflected in my daily service to our students and families. My greatest reward is to observe our student’s learning and development has a solid foundation as they enter their next level of school knowing that I have made a difference with their academic success. As I continue my path with our youngest students in Los Angeles Unified School District, I will lead as a role model, positively influence our preschool students, and be honored to serve the students and families in the East Los Angeles community. I conclude with a poem authored by Forest Witcraft: "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.

 

 

Mi nombre es Irene Leon Santillan y soy la directora de 4th Street Early Education Center. He estado en el campo de la educación infantil con el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Los Ángeles desde que me gradué de la escuela secundaria. Comencé mi carrera como asistente y continué como maestra, directora y actualmente como directora durante más de 20 años en la División de Educación Infantil. Estoy agradecida y honrada de trabajar con niños en edad preescolar, nuestros estudiantes más jóvenes en LAUSD. Me he esforzado a lo largo de los años para brindar a nuestros estudiantes de preescolar la educación infantil de calidad que se merecen y tienen derecho a garantizar su éxito académico en sus años escolares y en su vida. Tuve el privilegio de que mis padres fueran modelos influyentes que me motivaron a luchar por la excelencia, inculcaron la importancia de la integridad y ejemplificaron altos estándares de valores, moral y ética laboral. Este carácter se refleja en mi servicio diario a nuestros estudiantes y familias. Mi mayor recompensa es observar que el aprendizaje y el desarrollo de nuestros estudiantes sea una base sólida a medida que ingresan al siguiente nivel de la escuela sabiendo que he marcado la diferencia con su éxito académico.

 

Mientras continúo mi camino con nuestros estudiantes más jóvenes en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Los Ángeles, seré un modelo a seguir, influiré positivamente en nuestros estudiantes de preescolar y me sentiré honrado de servir a los estudiantes y las familias en la comunidad del Este de Los Ángeles. Concluyo con un poema escrito por Forest Witcraft: Dentro de cien años no importará cuál sea mi cuenta bancaria, el tipo de casa en la que vivía o el tipo de automóvil que conducía ... pero el mundo puede ser diferente porque Fui importante en la vida de un niño ."
